Miss Marilyn Pierce
The director and teacher of Good Shepherd Preschool
Mother of Two, Grandmother of One, Kool-Aid Mom of the Neighborhood, Brownie Leader, Committee Member, Homeroom Mom, PTO Board Member from Grade School then High School -I have held many titles in my lifetime, but I would have to say, "Big Grandma," as my granddaughter calls me, is my favorite!
In 1985 when my last daughter went off to grade school, I took a job as an aid at Diane Mitchell's Children Center. That launched my career in childcare. I loved it so much, I went back to school so I could teach. I attended Prairie State University and Joliet Junior College where I majored in Child Development.
I taught at Diane Mitchell's Children Center, Our Savior Lutheran Church in Joliet, and worked briefly for Catholic Charities Head Start before I came to Good Shepherd Preschool.
God has blessed me with "creativity" and "the love of children" - two gifts, that when combined together in my field of work, create a fun, nurturing environment.
Thank you for entrusting me with your most precious gift from God - your child. It is an honor and a pleasure to teach your child. |
Miss Judith Stec
Teaching Assistant
I have been a Romeoville resident for 30 years. During that time, I have been busy raising my four children, now ages 29, 26, 18, and 14.
I have also known the joy and challenges of being a foster parent where I learned first hand to care for children with special needs.
My involvement in the Valley View School District spans many years and various capacities. I have been involved in the PTO, a proud band mom, a teacher's aide and a reading tutor for first graders.
I attended the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay and continue to take classes to further advance my education. My love of nature and the outdoors is evident in our classroom every day.
I consider it my privilege and my joy to teach your child! |
